Sobre este artículo

London: Swan Sonnenschein & Co. Ltd,, 1897. First edition. In this book, Mary Boole (1832-1916), the self-taught mathematician, aims to "explain and develop what she saw as the fundamental significance of her husband's work - the use of mathematical methods, developed in Laws of Thought, to reveal deeper spiritual and philosophical truths" (ODNB). She built upon these "truths" to develop innovations in mathematical education, particularly that of girls. The present study also relates George Boole's (1815-1864) work to the theories of the French mystic and theologian August Gratry (1805-1872). Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered in gilt, edges untrimmed. With two diagrams in text. Cloth a little marked, spine ends and corners bumped, a few pencil notes on front pastedown with underlining on dedication and preface, occasional light foxing: a near-fine copy.
