The second edition of George Oakley Totten's interesting look at Mayan architecture, profusely illustrated throughout, including with colour plates. The second edition of this work. This work is an informative and extensive look at Mayan architecture. Maya architecture spans several thousand years, and is a unique and intricate style. Written by George Oakley Totten. Totten was one of the most prolific and renowned architecture in America's Gilded Age. He continuously experiments in his work, building mansions and buildings that are now used as embassies and chanceries. Illustrated with a frontispiece, and one-hundred and four plates, eight of which are colour. With a bookplate to the front pastedown, 'Marshall Dill, 501 Marina Blvd, San Francisco, California'. This is possibly the Stanford University history professor, Marshall Dill. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper, 'To Hebert A. Schmidt, from Aunt ... May 5 1929'. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A couple of minor marks to the boards. A couple of light spots to the fore edge. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
