Decorated American trade binding, with a color illustration paste-on on cover by Alice Barber Stephens. Green cloth boards with gold and black decoration, unchipped gold lettering on cover, black lettering on spine. Tiny spots of wear at base of spine. Rear board has light soiling; front board is clean with faint stain to illustration, one bumped lower corner tip. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Some spots of soiling to endpapers; ink-stamp of Post No. 272 American Legion on front free endpaper. Frontispiece illustration with tissue guard. Additional full page illustrations throughout. 389 pages..
