Sobre este artículo

Pittsburgh, PA: James P. O'Brien--Publishing, 1993. First Printing [Stated]. Hardcover. Very good/good. 512 pages. Contains plate-signed signatures of 36 members of the team on the front and rear boards of the book. Illustrations. DJ has small chips and scuffs to dust jacket edges. Pittsburgh sports author Jim O'Brien has written 29 books in his "Pittsburgh Proud" series. He is on the advisory board for the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum at the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh, and has been inducted into the Western Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. He was given the Bob Prince Award for his journalism efforts and the David L. Lawrence Award for "promoting Pittsburgh in a positive manner on a national level" from Vectors. He was cited as a "Legend" by the Pittsburgh chapter of the Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame. O'Brien spent two years visiting with the surviving members of the '60 Bucs. He also interviewed some of the Yankees (who lost the 1960 World Series), including Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Mickey Mantle, and Ralph Terry. Bill Mazeroski hit the winning home run in the seventh game of the 1960 World Series. William Stanley Mazeroski (born September 5, 1936) is an American former baseball second baseman who played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Pittsburgh Pirates, from 1956-1972. Nicknamed "Maz", he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001. Mazeroski is regarded as one of the greatest defensive second basemen of all time. He was an All-Star for seven seasons and a Gold Glove Award winner for eight seasons. He was a key member of the Pirates' World Series-winning teams in 1960 and 1971, the former of which he clinched by hitting a walk-off home run in Game 7-at the time and for years afterwards, the only game 7 walk-off homer in World Series history.
