Sobre este artículo

New York: Doubleday & McClure Co, 1899. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. First edition, first state. "...this novel of the seamy side of life in San Francisco is a hallmark of California and American literature, and according to Kevin Starr, 'the finest novel ever to be set in San Francisco.' Following Bret Harte and Sam Clemens, Norris was the next major writer to achieve national recognition for focusing on California and Western themes" (Gary F. Kurutz, The Zamorano 80 Collection of Daniel G. Volkmann Jr.). Later, McTeague served as the basis for Erich von Stroheim's cinematic masterpiece Greed (1924). Octavo: [6], 442, [6] p. Original red cloth stamping, with white stamping. The front flyleaf has been excised. Some light fading along the spine, with a bit of mild wear to the corners and tips. The Zamorano Eighty 58.
