New York: The John Day Company, 1929. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, which has always had a presumably generic blank dust jacket on it. Note: this is NOT the pictorial DJ which was issued with the book, although the blank jacket appears to be about the same age. I did not was the jacket condition because this was likely something that was picked up at a stationary store as there is a $0.25 price on the rear flap along with toning and several tears on the edges. You can tell the jacket has been with the book for many decades as the inner end pages are darkened from where the two types of paper reacted overtime. Blue cloth boards underneath does show fade spots on the rear and spine along with some toning to the edges, but corners are still sharp. The internal binding is good with no issues at boards and only minor pulling at spots where you can just see a small gap between the pages. There are no signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. An overall nice clean copy that saw little use.

Purchases will ship by US Media Mail or Priority Mail (if buyer selects) and higher priced items may have insured placed on the order and will typically ship within one business day. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 5 lbs., but only in unusual cases. Insurance is available upon request though we normally place insurance on any item of $75 or higher at no additional cost to the buyer. Non-US sales will ship by First Class International or Global Priority. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 4 lbs.
We always take extra care in packaging and shipping. Books are typically wrapped in packing paper or bubblewrap before packaged in a sturdt shipping box. All orders, even those shipped by US Media Mail, will be given a USPS tracking number which will be sent to the buyer so they will know when to expect arrival. Please let us know if there is a book with incorrect or missing photos. We recently moved the inventory to Biblio and a title or two may have had issues with the photos being transferred over.
Yesterday's Book shop is owned and operated by a disabled veteran. Due to my limitations, I often have to rely on speech-to-text software to list the books. If the description has typos ("and pages" instead of "end pages", pace downs instead of pastedowns, guilt instead of gilt, etc,) PLEASE let me know so I can correct the listing. The software spells words by phonetics and can make errors that I may not catch.

Yesterday's Book Shop is an independent, family-owned establishment. The store first opened in 1966 under the name Collector's Corner and was located in Western Maryland. The Collector's Corner dealt mainly in books but also sold stamps and assorted ephemera. In 1975 the name was changed to Yesterday's Book Shop when the store only offered books and printed matter. In the early 2000s the brick and mortar store was closed and now we only sell online.
