Bound in tree-calf leather, gilt-stamped spine and cover decoration with the Hoosac School coat of arms on the front board, marbled text block edges and end papers, 632 pages, extensively illustrated in black and white. Bound by Bickers & Sons Bindery. Blank front fly leaf has previous owner's name and the words: "Sanford Prize Essay" in period ink. Light wear to corners and spine ends, as well as rear board.
