A French barrister, colonial judge, author, and lecturer, Jacolliot (1837-90) wrote several pseudo-scientific studies of human sexual behavior, including this work on "its excesses, abuses, perversions, aberrations, and crimes." Contains chapters on onanism, exhibitionism, fetishism, necrophily, bestiality, sadism, and masochism. Original silver cloth binding, with blue stamping. Light foxing along the edges, with a bit of scuffing to the front board; otherwise very good.
