Dr. Smith recalls his experiences during World War I when he was an officer of Ambulance Company 21 of the 4th Sanitary train, 4th Division, in 1918 and 1919 in both France and Germany. Red boards with gilt print, 226 pages. Spine just slightly sunned. Limited edition, number 87 of 240, signed by Smith and Eckman on the limitation page at the back. Inscribed on the front end paper "To my good friend J. Richards Aurelius, Best wishes. H.L. Smith, Dec. 25, 1940." Laid in, in a plastic sleeve, is a newspaper review of the book. Aurelius was a prominent radiologist in St. Paul, Minnesota.. Inscribed By the Author. Limited Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket.
