Sobre este artículo

London: G. and J. Robinson, 1804. Leather. Good. 7.5" by 5". None. A complete three volume set of Hamilton's detailed memoirs of Agrippina, the wife of Germanicus Caesar. Three volumes. Early edition. The life of Agrippina, wife of Germanicus Caesar, who is seen as a major figure in the succession struggles during the latter part of the reign of Tiberius (AD14-37). Volume one follows her life from her infant character to her marriage to Germanicus and their journey to Germany. Volume two continues from the birth of Agrippina the younger through to Piso's suicide. Volume three contains information on the affairs at Rome to the death of Agrippina. Written by Elizabeth Hamilton, a Scottish essayist, poet, satirist, and novelist who entered into the French-revolutionary era controversy in Britain over the education and rights of women. Bound in full calf. Externally, sound with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. The odd mark to the boards. Volume one front board has detached. Joints tender but still reasonably firm. Minor loss to the spines of volumes two and three. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Good
