Publishers original light tan cloth, lettered in green on the spine and with an illustration of Stoddards signature on the front cover, color pictorial dust jacket, lg 8vo. The introduction to this volume is by George Miksch Sutton. Small newspaper clipping noting Stoddards death in 1970 tipped into the frontis matter, Stoddard died one year after his memoir was published. This memoir presents a story of Stoddards lifetime spent in the cause of leading his fellow Americans to the awareness of the value of our natural resources in both economic and aesthetic terms. Name stamp of the Ron Sauey Memorial Library on the top page edge only. Ron Sauey was co-founder of the International Crane Foundation, Baraboo, Wisconsin. Signature of Fred Ott dated 10/23/91 on the half title page. A rare work.
