The spine has been extensively repaired with new cloth, retaining large segments of the original cloth, and there are new endpapers to strengthen the binding. Pages foxed and dampstained. Early owner's inscription in front, dated 1847. Binding is tight. Comes in a modern slipcase, inside which a previous owner made pencil notations. Two volumes in one. The frontispiece of the second part is a color portrait of Pocahontas.
