Small publisher's advertising sheet was folded and inserted over the exterior of one of the signatures. It has dried at fold and separated. Laid in is a piece of paper taken from a news service teletype machine; on which is written the owner's name, Alan Pryce-Jones. Pryce-Jones (1908-2000) was; for much of his career, editor of The Times Literary Supplement. He also worked as a book critic for The New York Herald Tribune, The World Journal Tribune and Newsday. He was also the theater critic for Theater Arts, and wrote reviews and essays for The New York Times Book Review. Pierre Mac Orlan (1882-1970), born Pierre Dumarchey, was a French novelist and songwriter.".
