Sobre este artículo
Adyar, Madras, India: Theosophical Publishing House, 1919. Pamphlet. Near Fine. 4-3/4 x 7-1/4" stapled pale peach wraps. 23, [1] pages. Faint soiling and minor rippling to the wraps, title page a bit age-toned, but a tight clean copy, near fine. Noted theosophist, women's rights activist, writer, and orator, Besant was also a passionate advocate for Indian home rule. This appears to be the first separate printing of "Memory," reprinted from LUCIFER, VOL. V. (1889), an elusive theosophical magazine which ran from 1888-1897, for which OCLC records only two institutional holdings. This pamphlet is only slightly less scarce, with OCLC locating four copies; by contrast, Besant's 1935 "Memory and its Nature," in which she expands upon the thoughts she expresses here, is held by at least 37 institutions.
