The Transvaal Publishing Company, Johannesburg, 1905. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 391 pages (complete). A stout copy. Ex-library (Transvaal Provincial Library / Transvaalse Provinsiale Biblioteek) copy with consequent debris, residue. labels, stamps, annotations, wear, usage. The front pastedown has a label declaring previous ownership by the (now closed) Macrorie House Museum in Pietermaritzburg. Half leather. The spine has been repaired with leather patches. Padded cloth boards. These are much marked, worn, scuffed. The leather corners are worn and rubbed. The spine has much wear. The gilt titling and decoration are dulled. The page trims are gilded. The contents are pleasing. They are tight, clean and clear, very confident, conscientious, dutiful, tidy, smart, fresh-faced. Please note that due to the weight of the book, should the book need be posted to the outside of South Africa extra postal charges may be required. fk.
