Sobre este artículo

Garden City, NY: Doubleday & Company, 1957 Doubleday & Company, Garden City, NY. c1957. Hardcover. Edition not stated. This is the Ninth Volume Published in The Mainstream of America Series. Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a gift bookplate on the FFFP. Book Condition: Very Good; bumping to head, tail, and lower tips; slightly suntanned spine; slight glue reaction to peripheral edges of boards. DJ: Good: Price Clipped; slight sunbleaching to spine; chipping and missing small pieces at head, tail, and tips. Gray cloth boards and spine with gilt lettering on the spine in a red shadowbox; gilt letter and decoration on the front board. Pictorial Mainstream endpapers. 469 pp 8vo. For this history, the author returns to the American colonial period and early nationhood, exploring the personalities who won the nation’s independence from England: Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, John Adams, and George Washington. This book covers the period from 1781 to Hamilton’s death in 1804. The work crystallizes the author’s fascination with the psychology of the colonial freedom fighter and presents lessons for current American policymakers. The author skillfully has interwoven the history of the critical years of the nation with the stories of the men who shaped the times. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
