Copy of Vermont's 1st Senator, Stephen Row Bradley. Disbound with leather remains on spine; side-stab holes and contemporary thread remain from original pamphlets. All leaves, bright, clean, supple including outer cover pages; limited foxing interior. Contemporary ink signature on front page at tail edge 'Gen. Bradleys'; on 2nd leave recto 'Genl Bradley' in pencil apparently in different hand than front page; on final leaf verso (i.e, back cover) 'Mr Bradley' written twice in contemporary ink. Signatures on front cover and back cover are Senator Bradley's. 13 pages thus: [1-4], 5-13. Followed by 45 tables (mostly folded sheets) thus: b1-b9; c1-c17; d1-d13; e1-e13; 1-17. Of these tables, b9, c17, D13, E13, 8 & 17 are single unfolded leaves printed 1 side. The remainder (39) are folded leaves printed 1 side. Cf, OCLC 166620861 (giving paging details); Harvard/Hollis # 004257207 (citing Shaw & Shoemaker #27225); Greely p 611. From President Madison and Sec State Monroe to US House giving particulars of seamen impressed by Britain in immediatley preceding years. Details include: date, seaman's name & home place, seizure date and place, seaman's ship and master's names, British ship on which detained, proofs of citizenship, outcomes and remarks. 31.5 cm. Note that following 'D' section and preceding 'E' section is a gathering of stubs, apparently bound in to provide uniformity, I.e., to accommodate all of the folded leaves. The number sequence in preceding and following sections is continuous indicating no material missing. 58 pp, 31.5 cm.
