The revolutionary techniques Marey employed in his studies, both mechanical and photographic, led to unforeseen practical implications in the fields of aviation and biophysics, and upon the advent of cinematography. This second edition contains a supplement, not present in the 1878 first, details on Marey's cinematographic methods; for example figure seven that illustrates the 'le fusil photographique', the device that Marey invented in 1882, which many regard as the first motion picture camera. . We have a countryside bookshop in Wareham; we also regularly issue catalogues - do ask if you would like to be added to our mailing list - and frequently exhibit at regional and national book fairs in London, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Oxford, and York.
We also offer a valuation service (for either insurance or probate purposes), as well as advice on library development.
