First U.S. Edition, 1844. Publication of 390 pages. There is gilt on the spine of the book and decoration on the front cover. Frontispiece. The boards are a little shelf rubbed. On pages 287 and 288 there is a chipped piece on the edge of the page, "index page" some of the text is missing. There is foxing and some marks throughout the body of the book.
