Light edgewear, a little moreso to corners and spine ends, corner bumping, light soiling/spotting to rear and outer edge of pages, some fading to spine. Pages all intact, and clean for the most part, although a few small spots were seen. Partial paper split at spine inside front, age tanning of pages. 395 pages plus several page of advertising. A historical novel set in the 17th century. Originally published in the late 1800's. Micah Clarke recounts certain passages in his early life, to his 3 grandchildren during the hard winter of 1734. He tells them of his journey from Havant to Taunton with Decimus Saxon, and adventures that befell them during the western rebellion, and of their meeting with James, Duke of Monmouth, Lord Grey and others. (600) ; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall; 395 pages .
Sinopsis
Micah Clarke by Arthur Conan Doyle is an historical adventure novel set during the Monmouth Rebellion of 1685 in England. The book follows the exploits of Conan Doyle's fictional character Micah Clarke. It is a bildungsroman whose protagonist begins as a boy seeking adventure in a rather romantic and naive way, falls under the influence of an older and vastly experienced, world-weary soldier of fortune, and becomes a grown up after numerous experiences, some of them very harrowing.
