"The Thief and the Dogs" is translated from the Arabic by Trevor Le Gassick and M. M. Badawi and is revised by John Rodenbeck. It is a novel about a thief, recently released from prison. He is an ardent nationalist as well as a onetime Robin Hood. The chilly reception by his family and a close colegue lead him to go on a rampage with a gun but he accidently kills two innocent people instead of his intended victims. He is then driven into hiding by the police and the popular press and finds himself hiding in an apartment overlooking a cemetary. "Miramar" is translated from the Arabic by Fatma Moussa Mahmoud and edited and revised by Maged el Kommos and John Rodenbeck as well as with notes by Omar el Qudsy.
