London: B T Batsford Ltd, 1949. 1st Edition. Red Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Illustrated. 120pp. A first edition copy ( 1949), scarce as signed by the author in ink to the title page. From the series Face of Britian. Colour frontispiece plate and numeous b/w photographic plates throughout by F. L. Attenborough amongst others. Several newspaper cuttings about the author are loosely inserted. Noticeable fading to the spine with slight/light fading to the head of the front and rear boards. There are light bumps to the head and tail of the spine. Neat ink gift inscription to the head of the reverse of the front end paper dated 1949. A few foxspots to the margins of the fore edges, clean and tight. No wrapper. A very good, tight copy.
