Clean hardback bound in blue cloth with gilt titles and decoration on the front cover and spine, blind stamped decoration on the rear board and gilt page edges. The cloth is rubbed at the corners and edges and spine ends are chipped and worn, 2 small splits between spine and front board, neat gift inscription on the half title verso. Some foxing to early pages. xvi + 692 pages, many illustrations in text and 7 maps on plates, index .
