These editions are from 1888-1896.Very scarce. In the original publisher's cloth. Mrs Henry Wood was an English novelist, she is also known by the name Ellen Price. She is best remembered for her 1861 novel East Lynne. East Lynne is an English sensation novel originally published in 1861. Mrs. Henry Wood was a Victorian bestseller and is remembered for her elaborate and implausible plots. Many of the stories focus on infidelity and double identities. East Lynne was originally serialized in The New Monthly Magazine between January 1860 and September 1861. It was issued as a three-volume novel in September 1861. Due to its success in print, it was adapted for stage. The novel was first staged in 1861 under the title Edith, or The Earl's Daughter in New York.Mildred Arkell was first published in 1865 this edition is from 1888. George Canterbury's Will was first published in 1870 this edition is from 1890. Mrs Halliburton's Troubles was first published in 1862 this edition is from 1895. Trevlyn Hold was first published in 1864 this edition is from 1895. East Lynne was first published in book form in 1861, this edition is from 1896. In the original publisher's cloth. Externally smart. Fading to the spines. Light marks to the boards. A small damp stain on the rear board of George Canterbury's Will. Internally firmly bound. The hinges are tender on Mildred Arkell. Missing the front free endpaper on East Lynne. The odd spot on the first and last pages but generally the pages are bright and clean. Mildred Arkell has a ink inscription to the title page. Title page uncut on Mrs Halliburton's Troubles. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
