Sobre este artículo
Yuma, AZ: Yuma Warrior Mining Company, 1912. Very Good. [Mining] Certificate of Ownership of Shares in the Yuma Warrior Mining Company, issued to Morris Goldwater, C. T. "Chas" Joslin, H. W. Stevens, Yuma, AZ, 1912, 10.75 x 8.5 inches, 1 pp.
Single sheet of off-white paper with black ink lettering and decorative green border design to front; stamped with the Yuma Warrior Mining Company paper seal to lower left corner; middle section of back previously folded into thirds, with "Certificate for 10000 Shares of the Capital Stock, Yuma Warrior Mining Company, issued to Morris Goldwater April 1st, 1912" and elegant border design in green ink. Light wear and soiling along creases on back; three small dark brown spots to left edge on front; two small holes in the paper seal where the embosser must have punched through the paper; otherwise bright and clean document. Very good condition.
This document certified the ownership of ten thousand shares in the Yuma Warrior Mining Company by Morris Goldwater, uncle of Barry Goldwater, former United States Senator from Arizona. The document is numbered 15, and is signed by Morris Goldwater as well as Chas Joslin, the company secretary, and H. W. Stevens, the company president. Also included with this item are two printouts - the first contains a photo and several paragraphs detailing the history of the Harqua Hala mine in Yuma, which was worked by the Yuma Warrior Mining Company from 1913-1916. The second printout is a scan of a book page that includes a paragraph about Morris Goldwater, and paragraphs on other notable members of the Goldwater family.
Morris Goldwater (1852-1939) was a merchant, politician, and civic leader, serving multiple terms as Mayor of Prescott; he helped organize the Democratic Party in Arizona, and founded the Prescott National Bank. H. W. Stevens resided in Prescott, AZ and was the president of at least one other mining company, the Verde Cobra Mines Company.
