Truman Capote's original Birth Certificate - issued in the parish of New Orleans & registered the 3rd day of October, 1924 & showing the birth of Truman Streckfus Persons, September 30th, 1924. A unique document. A bit tattered but still quite bright & clean. In 1928, when Truman was 4, the Certificate was given by Capote's mother, Lillie Mae Faulk Persons [soon to be Capote] to her sister, Lucille Faulk Ingram for safekeeping. Lillie Mae was off to New York to make a new life leaving Truman to the care & nurturing of his Monroeville relatives. Outside of the cousins Truman lived with as a child, Lucille Faulk Ingram & her daughter, Cecilia, were his closest kin. As a fledgling writer looking for solitude, it was in the comfort of Lucille Ingram's home that Truman began to write his first novel, Other Voices, Other Rooms.

There are three works including this work were detected by Isma'il al Baghdadi in Hadiyyat ul Arifin. This copy is the only one to be existed and there is no other known in the manuscripts resorces. The work was possibly written in Mecca , since there are five pages of praise in the beginning by a Yemeni scholar called Muhammad b. Muhammad b. Muhammad al Mizjaji al Ash'ari al Hanafi al Zabidi, who seems to be lived in Mecca as many of Yemeni scholars came from Zabid in Yemen to Mecca during the past centuries. The manuscript is lavishly gilded; all pages out-ruled in gold, the back of beginning and final pages are completely ornamented in gold, the fist page richly gilded in ROCOCO style, and many golden dots between phrases. Edges of the book are completely gilded. Contemporary binding ornamented in gold with arm and crecent of the Ottoman state on green silk.
