Hard Cover. 16mo - 16 x 10 cm.; 2531 - 56 - 14 - 51 - 4 - 4 - 34 - [1] pp. Black leather over thin and flexible boards. Gilt lettering on a 6 panel spine. 4 book mark ribbons set into the headband. The text block edges are gilt over red though faded now. Illustrated by Dom Bruno Groenendaal. Translations of the Scripture texts are by Le Chanoine E. Osty. The text is 2 columns per page with Latin on the inside half and French on the outside or fore edge half, with the exception of "La Sainte Messe" which is printed with Latin on the verso (left hand page) and French on the recto (right hand page) with rubrics in French and printed as notes on the fore edge margins. The 56 page section at the back is the "Propre du Canada" while the 51 pages section is music using Gregorian chant notation. The externals show only mild wear. Previous owner's name on the third blank page. The section for the Eucharistic liturgy shows wear to the page edges from use and they do sit a tad proud of the text block though the binding is still very good and solid. In general the missal shows signs of a fair amount of use, though reverent use. .
