Good. 3 maps (1 folding and 1 which is called an "Ichnographical" Sketch), folding facsimile, 6 (of 7) color plates, 1 of which is folding, 5 pages of music (on 3 leaves), viii, [2], 512p. Rebound in new quarterbinding (marbled boards backed in dark brown leather). 28cm. Relatively small stains here and there including corners or edges of some plates and maps. Lacks half-title and the color plate titled "A Captain in his War-Dress." Large folding color plate of the Yam Custom is misfolded and has split and is somewhat worn along some of the folds (which were reinforced at some time in the past). From the John Ralph Willis Collection of Africana with his bookplate remounted on the new endpaper. Important and rather scarce account of travel in West Africa.
