This updated 1873 edition is bound in clean green cloth with gilt title on spine. Interior of text is tight, clean and intact. Illustrated with 6 color fold out maps. First map (frontis) is complete but has separated in the center & has tears at the folds, the other five maps are in very good condition. Inkstamp of Norristown Library Co. Gilpin (1813-1894) was an Explorer, Politician, Speculator, Officer in the US Army who wrote of the American West. First Territorial Governor of Colorado. ; Ex-Library; Color Maps; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 217 pages .
