This is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First Edition (stated).. Black cloth binding with titling on the spine and front cover in pink and mauve. Clean text; 318 pages. Two Appendices omprise pages 265-318. Endpapers are a map of New Orleans/Storyville. A sold copy, but some spots of white residue on the front cover (label removal?). An uncancelled 32-cent postage stamp commemorative of Jelly Roll Morton pasted to title page. Page 247/248 is b/w profile of Jelly Roll. His arrangement, complete with his ad libs, of the song titled "Mamie's Blues" written by Mamie Desdume (3 pages) ; "Winin' Boy Blues" followed by one lyric poem; "The Naked Dance" (no words) ; "King Porter Stomp" and many more including the ever famous "Jelly Roll Blues". Map endpapers showing the Guide to Jelly Roll's New Orleans around 1900. Book is solid and straight. Some biopredation on spine, less so on top front board and rear board.
