New York: Dodd, Mead and Company, 1923. First Edition Thus/Early Printing. Hardcover. Fair/N/A. An early printing of the first illustrated edition of the classic in color first published in 1922. In black blindstamped boards with gilt to type. Small gouge to front board and small stain. Spots rubbed through at head and heel of spine and bottom front corner. Corners bumped with small stain at bottom rear. Spine faded. Illustrated endpapers. Front hinge split at verso of half-title page with mull showing, but still holiding. Some moisture staining to top of front page ends and front of top page ends to about page 150 with some light foxing and again to last 100 pages.
