Lippincott-- it appears that the book was first pubished in 1857. The author, a Presbyterian, presents his view of slavery from a religious perspective. Original brown publisher's cloth covers with gilt pine lettering. There is some browning along the inside hinge of the front and rear between the front fly leaf and the pastedown (probably from glue used in binding).
