John Hunt Morgan, respectively, and the burning of Monroe County court house and other buildings; World War I, World War II, the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam with lists of those who died from Monroe County; Transportation and Communication; the Cumberland River, including a list of steamboats; Newspapers; Postmasters; Churches; Maps; Schools; Doctors; Monroe County War Memorial Hospital; Gamaliel and Fountain Run; Agriculture and Industry; the Negro community; Oil strikes; Disasters, including a poem called The Tompkinsville Tornado"; County officials; Clubs and Organizations; Banks; Fire Department; References; Ourstandng Citizens; the Flippin Tulip Poplar; Old Mulkey Meeting House State Park, and other interesting tidbits of local history.
