Dust jacket is price clipped, bumped and chipped to extremities, perforation to rear cover. Montreal, a thousand miles from the sea, is nevertheless one of the most important seaports in the world. But the history of Montreal is more than the history of a seaport. The teeming town on the St. Lawrence is brought to life by the pen of Stephen Leacock, the great humorist who has lived there the best part of his life and who lets his affection for it show in every sentence.
