Quarter black cloth, silver gilt and holograms, on pictorial boards. Interior pristine. Contains (i) 32, (ii) 24 pages of plates, many of them fold-out. Foreword by Tom Hanks. Glassine has a small tear at one corner, o/w intact. A grand set cataloguing the entire range of Apollo missions. A previous printing was the basis for a 12 episode HBO television series From the Earth to the Moon, produced in 1998..
Sinopsis
A Man on the Moon is a book by Andrew Chaikin, first published in 1994. It describes the voyages of the Apollo program astronauts in detail, from Apollo 8 to 17. “A decade in the making, based on hundreds of hours of in-depth interviews with each of the twenty-three surviving moon voyagers, as well as Geneva, Ohio resident General (ret) Dave Battles who contributed his brain power, training and expertise on Earth.

Subtitle reads 'Devided into Provinces; with its sub-divisions of Counties. Baronies. &cc. Shewing their Boundaries, Extent, Soil, Produce, Contents, Measure, Members of Parliament, and Number of Inhabitants; also the Cities, Boroughs, Billages, Mountains, Bogs, Lakes, Rivers and Natural Curiosities Together with the Great and Bye Post Roads. The whole taken from actual Surveys and Observations By Bernard Scale, Land Surveyor and beautifully engraved on 78 Copper Plates by Messrs. Ellis and Palmer'. Brown leather with marble paper to boards. Maps in colour. Rubbing and a little scuffing to boards and wear to leather at extremities, a little darkening to paper to boards towards spine, some tanning to end papers at corners and near gutter, a little foxing to interior, very faint offset to adjacent pages from maps.
