Sobre este artículo

San Francisco: The Arion Press, 2012. Limited Edition. Illustrated edition of Collins's 1868 novel, first serialized in Charles Dickens's magazine All the Year Round, followed immediately by a three-decked published by Tinsley Brothers. Centered around a large yellow diamond, stolen by an Englishman during the Anglo-Mysore War from an Indian religious idol and brought to London. Bad luck has historically followed anyone who removed the stone from its rightful place, and a layered plot of murder, embezzlement, and deception unravel; all the while, the moonstone's hereditary guardians are relentless in their attempts to retrieve it. A Haycraft-Queen Cornerstone title. Arion 95. One of 300 numbered copies specially bound and signed by the illustrator, this being copy no.80. Octavo (24.75cm); navy blue cloth, with titles stamped in yellow on spine; publisher's cream paper and matching cloth slipcase, with spine titled in yellow beneath a a Swarovski crystal "moonstone;" [ii],[6],7-458,[4]pp, with Washburn's scratchboard illustrations throughout the text. Fine in a Fine slipcase, with a few trivial scuffs on one side.

Reseñas

El Dec 6 2011, Bragi dijo:
One of the best detective novels I have ever read. This book is a precursor to all detective classics in English. The style of writing is unique, the way the narration begins and accounts of each and every character that are involved in the plot, is one of the first of its kind. This is a must read book for all those who are interested in detective novels.
