VERY NICE BOOK- GREAT SCIENCE FICTION!!!

Brown leather boards with gold writing and images and raised bands on spine; embossed image of planet, sky, and tree in gold on front and back board. Novel not issued with dust jacket. Top corner of back board shows slight wear; top edges of pages show some spotting (see pic). This is a special Collector's Edition Easton Press printing (with white bookmark) bound in leather, illustrated by Bob Eggleton with an introduction by Charles Sheffield. Niven and Pournelle's classic science-fiction tale in a Very Fine copy. Hardcover, but no dust jacket, so novel cannot be protected by archival Mylar cover.

Bound in full (genuine) leather with hubbed spine. Text block is tight and clean with no ownership markings or bookplates. Embossed in 22kt gold on the spine and front and back covers. Heavy duty binding boards. Printed on acid-neutral, archival paper. All edges gilt. Smyth sewn with concealed muslin joints and permanent satin ribbon marker. Collector's Notes sheet laid in. Some mild fading to board edges (common problem with this book) and some mild tanning to text paper (common problem with this book). Stylish gift inscription on FFEP. Text block is somewhat slanted. Dust jacket is price clipped, otherwise DJ would be Near Fine/Fine.

Niven and Pournelle's first best-seller, first edition/first printing with full number line on verso of title page. Signed by both authors, on the double-page title page (Pournelle on the left page, Niven on the right). No inscription. Book ahows a slight spine lean, a small ding on the lower right front board, and general signs of having been read. Dustjacket is unclipped, and has a small ding in the center of the front cover over Dr. Pournelle's name and slight delamination near the spine -- some signs of use. The signatures are probably fairly early -- Niven didn't correct the error late in the book on this copy. A reasonable copy of this very desirable book.

No fading to board edges which is endemic to this book, slight bump to base of spine, a fine copy in a fine dust jacket with slight wear to lower front corner tip, slight rub at upper spine and mild bump to lower left corner at spine.
