Proof copies feature the mis-print 'movable' for 'moveable' to the title page and the wraps. This memoir features Hemingway's recollections and experiences of the prominent characters and personalities including Aleister Crowley, Ezra Pound, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ford Madox Ford, Hilaire Belloc, James Joyce and Gertrude Stein. The English first edition precedes the US printing and was read by Hemingway's Cape stablemate Ian Fleming in proof form. Bibliographer Jon Gilbert's copy, with his pencil ownership to flyleaf. His encyclopaedic guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography.
Sinopsis
A Moveable Feast is a set of memoirs by American author Ernest Hemingway about his years in Paris as part of the American expatriate circle of writers in the 1920s. In addition to painting a picture of Hemingway's time as a struggling young writer, the book also sketches the story of Hemingway and his first wife, Hadley. Published after his death, A Moveable Feast is considered by many to contain some of his best writing.
