Numerous figures engraved on wood cut and in full page, superb chromolithography. The authors are: Paul Lacroix, M. Mary-Lafon, Henri Martin, Philarète Chasles, Vallet de Viriville, Francisque Michel, M. Depping, Elzéar Blaze and Ferdinand Seré. Paginated by chapters. Gilt title and decoration to spine, four bands. Gilt to top page edges. Pastedown hinges cracked. Bookplate of Peter Carrington Peirce on front pastedown. Wear to top/tail and joints of spine, and cover corners. A little light foxing on title page and occasional foxing in the text and on some illustrations. A hint of browning to page margins. There is one small 20mm tear to lower edge of one page of illustration before Fol. III in the Nourriture et Cuisine chapter. This book is extra heavy, and may involve extra shipping charges to some countries.
