Authored by Edward Phillips Oppenheim (1866-1946), wildly popular in his day, who is credited with over one hundred novels and nearly forty short story collections, which earned him the sobriquet of "Prince Of Storytellers." Many of Oppenheim’s books were adapted to photo plays in the early years of the motion picture industry, and in 1936 his novel "The Amazing Quest Of Mr. Ernest Bliss" was made into the film of the same name starring Cary Grant and Mary Brian.
