Chicago: Belford, Clarke and Co, 1889. Octavo. 101 pages.(4)pp ads at rear which advertises Donnelly's works. Inscribed "To my dear wife/I.D./June 15, 1889, also signed by Mrs. Ignatius Donnelly at end of book. His work The Great Cryptogram attempted to prove Francis Bacon was, in fact, the author of Shakespeare's plays. This work relates to what people had written about his views of the Shakespeare-Bacon theory. Bound in green cloth lettered in gilt, spine plain, light spots of rubbing. A nice copy.
