Partly an adventure story that evolves into a legal thriller, This is a Very Good copy of the First American Edition. Marbled paper-covered boards with maroon leather tips and spine. Titling and rules in gilt on the spine. Clean text; 270 pages, with an eleven-page catalog at the rear.There is tanning to the textblock, ranging from none to light, particularly at the page ends, but all printing remains perfectly clear. The front paste-down is covered by a contemporary prize label. Lightly rubbed at the margins, with mild bumps. The spine is rubbed at the head and foot, and has faded to a nice warm tan. No dustjacket; in an archival plastic protector.. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
