Sobre este artículo

Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, New York and London, 1981. First Edition. Hardcover (1/4Cloth 3/4 Boards). Very Good Condition/Good. 1/4 pale purple coloured cloth covered backstrip with gilt coloured titles. 3/4 dark cream-coloured boards. Plain text dustwrapper with pink and white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Black and white photograph of Jean Harris to the rear dustwrapper panel. Black-and-white photograph of author to the rear fold over panel. In March 1980, Jean Harris lover of Dr Herman Tarnover (creator of the Scarsdale diet) visited him for the last time to bid him farewell before committing suicide. Mrs Harris had been replaced by a younger mistress by Dr Tarnower. In a struggle to wrest the gun by which Mrs Harris was going to commit suicide, Dr Tarnower died. After a lengthy trial in New York State Mrs Harris was convicted of the murder of her long-time lover. This book looks at the people involved, the crime and how it came about, along with the psychological observations of the author on the various players in the tragedy. Softening to the backstrip edges with some fading also present. Bumping to the book corners with rubbing to the lower book edges. There is a embossed remainder start to the lower left-hand corner of the rear panel. Age toning of the textblock edges and pages, but there is noticeable foxing to the textblock edges. Creasing to the dustwrapper edges with rubbing of the dustwrapper panels. Fading to the backstrip. There are faint black lead pencil marks throughout the text. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [10], 3-341, [3] pages.. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Law & Criminal Studies; United States; Biography & Autobiography.
