Sobre este artículo
The First UK printing published by Peter Davies, London in 1945. The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition with just some very light pushing at the spine tips. Light fading to the spine ends corresponding to the losses to the wrapper spine. Free from inscriptions and erasures. A small neat bookseller sticker to the lower front pastedown. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. Some losses to the spine ends and the lower front edge. Mild edge-wear with some nicks, light creasing and minor losses. The unattributed wrapper artwork remains striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The book, the author's first novel, was printed in conformity with the authorised war economy standards and is a very scarce survivor. It is highly likely that the book would have been printed in a small print run. I can only see one copy having appeared at auction in the last 30 years, and it is unclear as to whether that copy had a wrapper or not. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
