New York: Harcourt, Brace, 1940 This Is A Very Nice Copy Of Mrs. Miniver, Copyright 1940, Jacket Price $2.00 And With Rusty Rose Boards. The Dust Jacket Is Coral Pink With Grey Lettering. All Of These Features Would Suggest A First U.S. Edition. There Is One Letter From The Heroine To Her Sister At The End Of The Book, Dated 25 September 1939. The Book Arose Out Of A Series Of Newspaper Columns Which Were Published In Book Form In The Uk By Chatto And Windus In 1939. According To Wikipedia, Some Fictional 'Letters' Were Added At A Later Date. Not Clear If This Would Then Not Be A First Printing. There Is A Former Owner Signature On Ffep Dated March 1942, Some Four Months Before The Release Of The Film, Which Won Six Academy Awards. There Is Some Slight Browning On The Endpapers. The Dust Jacket Is More Or Less Complete But Is Quite Ragged And Unfortunately Has Been Mended With Cello Tape. This Tape Has Left A Slight Outline On The Board Front.
