Sobre este artículo

Yale / Oxford University Press. Very Good with No Dust Jacket as issued. 1956. 1917 Edition: Sixth Printing. Hard Cover. 138 pages: 4.5 x 7 in.: 0.8: Vol. 24: KB#009970: No Jacket as Issued. Scarce, Out Of Print, Book. Spine was lightly faded but has been redyed to match dark blue boards. Boards and pages are clean, unmarked, bright, tightly bound and sharp cornered. Boards are blue cloth with gilt lettering on front and spine. If interested, I have many additional volumes available in this Yale Shakespeare Series. "Probably written in 1598–1599. A comedy about two pairs of lovers, Benedick and Beatrice, and Claudio and Hero. Benedick and Beatrice are engaged in a very "merry war"; they are both very glib and proclaim their scorn for love, marriage, and each other. In contrast, Claudio and Hero are sweet young people who are rendered practically speechless by their love for one another. By means of "noting" (which sounds the same as "nothing," and which is gossip, rumour, and overhearing), Benedick and Beatrice are tricked into confessing their love for each other, and Claudio is tricked into rejecting Hero at the altar. However, Dogberry, a Constable who is a master of malapropisms, discovers the evil trickery of the villain, Don John. In the end, Don John runs away and everyone else joins in a dance celebrating the marriages of the two couples." .

Sinopsis

Shakespeare's comedy play Much Ado About Nothing pivots around the impediments to love for young betrothed Hero and Claudio when Hero is falsely accused of infidelity and the "lover's trap" set for the arrogant and assured Benedick who has sworn of marriage and his gentle adversary Beatrice. The merry war between Benedick and Beatrice with the promptings of their friends soon dissolves into farcical love, while Hero's supposed infidelity is shown to be little more than "much ado about nothing".
