South Brunswick and New York: Great Albion Books, 1972. First American Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo. Black cloth, gilt on spine, 200pp. Illustrated. Light bruise to foot of spine, some slight edgewear o/w near fine in d/w. Jacket clipped at front inner flap, light soil on rear cover and some creasing. "Julia Wallace's bludgeoned body was found by her husband William in their Liverpool home, one day in January 1931. So began the investigation of a murder mystery that aroused fierce public feeling. William Wallace was eventually convicted b the jury and sentenced to be hanged; but he was saved by a unique reversal of the verdict by the Court of Criminal Appeal. The true identity of the murderer has never been known.
