Louis Charles Elson - Musical composer, musical critic, born fit Boston, Massachusetts, 17 April 1848. In 1876 he became a contributor to the "Musician and Artist," and in 1877 began contributing to the "Vox Humana," of which he became editor in 1879. He is chiefly known as one of the editors of the Boston " Musical Herald." and through his criticisms in the Boston "Courier." He has contributed articles to the Boston "Transcript," New York " Tribune," and "St. Nicholas" magazine, and has translated and arranged over two thousand German, French, and Italian songs.
