Original hand-colored engraving from the monumental Dutch bird book, Nederlandsche Vogelen: Volgens Hunne Huishouding, Aert, en Eigenschappen Eschreeven, which was published in 5 volumes from 1770 to 1829. [See Sitwell, Fine Bird Books, p. 129.] The image of a collared flycatcher is 15 3/4 inches by 11 inches on a sheet of laid paper that is 20 3/4 inches by 14 1/4 inches.
