No copy of the first edition located by Library Hub (formerly COPAC) or OCLC. We can locte no other copy of the first edition. This useful handbook was republished in 1860 and went to a fifth edition by 1861.
Covers the stripping down and parts of a rifle all illustrated in very clear wood-engraved diagrams. Also covers the principles of firing, aiming, distance estimation, etc. with a large folding plate to illustrate the latter.
